Croton on Hudson: foliage, hiking and The Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze!
Get some wiggles out after the drive at River Walk or head directly to Croton Gorge Park, a popular spot for fishing, picnicking and hiking, with direct trail access to New York State’s Old Croton Aqueduct, which begins here. The Croton River also begins here. Make sure to stop on the bridge that spans the Croton River–it offers a fabulous view of the spillway.
Finally, end the day at The Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze, where more than 7,000 pumpkins light up the night in astonishing displays. See a Statue of Liberty reaching toward the sky, a 20-foot diameter Pumpkin Carousel twirling, and a herd of dinosaurs all made of jack o’ lanterns.
The best part is the kids will be fast asleep during the hour drive back to Brooklyn!
