The holidays are over but winter has only just begun. With our first nor’easter in full swing, SkipKid offers you five fabulous ways to help your kids get some exercise without having to brave the outdoors. [Please note: SkipKid gets commissions for purchases made through the links in this post, so if you are considering purchasing, please do so through these links to support SkipKid as a free parenting resource!]

We call these Jumping Discs, six brightly-colored, non-skid vinyl circles that can be scattered around your living room to become lily pads in a pretend pond. Watch your tots leap from disc to disc as they try to keep their feet from getting wet!

There is no limit to what you can do with Bean Bags. Toss them in the air and have your kid jump to catch each one, or hide them throughout the house and let your child search for them. These are durable yet soft enough that if the game gets exciting, no one gets hurt!

Perhaps the most amazing thing about this Balance Board is that it’s suitable for grownups, too. Get out the egg timer and let your kids balance for as long as they can, then have them count for you! Everyone needs their exercise.

What we love about the Pop Up Play Tunnel is that it is as easy to set up as it is to store. Think of this as a rainy-day toy that the kids only see when they can’t get to the playground. Let them crawl through it, roll balls through, or even roll each other around in it. It’s one of the quietest indoor toys around.

The Little Tikes 3′ Trampoline is not necessarily quiet (for your downstairs neighbors), but if you can find a suitable place for it, you will win at winter! Kids love nothing more than jumping and this gets them off the couches and onto a 3-foot trampoline that will have them bopping up and down for hours.
