SATURDAY

Bike the Branches Event & Block Party, Various libraries throughout Brooklyn. Bike the Branches lets you have fun and support the library at the same time. Enjoy live entertainment, Smorgasborg food vendors, and free activities for all ages. Prizes will be awarded to adults and children who visit the most branches!

“Twice upon A Time,” Gowanus Souvenir, Gowanus. Bring your kiddos to this musical puppet show featuring The Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, Curious George and Where The Wild Things Are. Stay to make a Mother’s Day puppet!

Songs For Unusual Creatures, Barbes, Park Slope. Author and composer Michael Hearst, along with his five-piece band, gives a highly-geeky A/V presentation of some of the most bizarre animals that roam the planet. Imagine the Australian bilby, the deep-sea magnapinna squid, the microscopic tardigrade, and more brought to life with song. All this while the grownups sip beer. Fun!

The Phantastic Theater – Fine Arts for the Young of all Ages, The Brooklyn Commons, Boerum Hill. Live music, orchestral music flowing through speakers, projected illustrative art and text, voice acting, dance and giant art puppets. Entertaining and educational, ‘The Phantastic Theater’ events are designed for the whole family.

Butterflies, Bulbs & Bookmarks, Outside the Cortelyou Library, Ditmas Park. The Farm on Adderlay and The Friends of the Cortelyou Library team up to bring you crafts, music, snacks and more.

SUNDAY

Best of BAMkids Film Festival: Miffy the Movie + PAWO, BAM Rose Cinemas, Ft. Greene. The world-famous stories of children’s author and illustrator Dick Bruna are brought to life in this interactive adventure, marking the beloved bunny’s onscreen debut. Mother and father bunny take Miffy and her fun-loving friends to the zoo for a surprise treasure hunt, where they meet lots of animals, practice numbers and colors, and sing catchy songs, asking the audience to participate in the hunt.

ALL WEEKEND

Mothers’ Day Crafts with Kids Corner, Habana Outpost, Fort Greene. Kids Corner is back for the 2016 season! Drop in for free and fun arts & crafts every Saturday & Sunday from 11am-3pm in the courtyard of Habana Outpost. This weekend your kids will work on making Mother’s Day flower bouquets out of recycled egg cartons.

St. Ann’s Warehouse & NoFit State: BIANCO, Dumbo. The circus is coming to town! St. Ann’s Warehouse is stepping out of the Tobacco Warehouse and into the Park for a month with NoFit State’s Bianco. See this one-of-a-kind circus company in their North American debut.
