Songs for Extraordinary People, Barbes, Park Slope. Join musician and writer Michael Hearst for this audio-visual performance geared toward children and adults age four and up. Enjoy an adult beverage while you and your children are mesmerized by this unique performance! All Barbes shows are $10 suggestion donation per person.

Magical Kids Brunch, the Hall at MP, Williamsburg. Bring the whole family and celebrate 2017 with amazing food, friends and a little bit of magic. Table-side balloon artists will twist balloons into extravagant shapes while you enjoy brunch by celebrity chef Michael Psilakis. Finish with an interactive magic show for all!

Twinkle Tames a Dragon, Kingsborough Community College, Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn. Twinkle Tames A Dragon, from the award-winning Vital Theatre Company, is a charming new musical based on the book of the same title by best-selling author Katharine Holabird, illustrated by Sarah Warburton.

Free Family Art Day “Let’s Dance,” Pipsqueak Children’s Shoppe, Bedford-Stuyvesant. Come out for this opportunity for families to play, imagine, and explore through a variety of different art forms. Each month the storytellers present crafts, songs, stories, and creative play around a theme. No need to RSVP, just drop in!

Activist Mondays, Hootenanny Art House, Park Slope. Introducing an ongoing opportunity for activism for the Park Slope (and beyond) community. Every Monday Hootenanny Art House will open their doors for Activist Coffee Hour from 3:30-4:30 and Activist Happy Hour (BYOB) from 6:00-7:00pm. There will be postcards available to write, scripts for calling, and petitions to sign. Depending on the issues at hand they will try to find the most accessible and valuable way for folks to participate. Kids are welcome. Donations will be accepted for coffee, stamps and printing.
