This Weekend: holiday sing-alongs, family parties, and early visits from Santa!


SkipKid Weekend Roundup: December 17-18

This weekend is all about gearing up for Christmas and Hanukkah. From visits with Santa to family holiday parties, sing-alongs to Hanukkah celebrations, you can’t help but enjoy yourselves! Thank you for helping us spread the word about SkipKid!


Santa Visit, LuLu’s Then & Now, Park Slope. Come to the LuLu’s Winter Wonderland and meet Santa himself! We’ll be decorating our Play Space to celebrate this special visit. Make sure the kids bring their Christmas lists! Santa will be available from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm. Availability is limited, please call to reserve a slot for your photo and Santa visit.

Holiday Party, Dodge YMCA, You’re invited to a fun day with games, crafts, a bounce house and professionally printed pictures with Santa! Everyone in the community is welcome.

Holiday Family Sing-a-long, Ume Ume Music & Arts, Park Slope. Come sing and dance to holiday hits and enjoy holiday treats.

Santa Saturday, Sidecar, Park Slope. Free visit with Santa plus strolling carolers along Park Slope’s 5th Avenue.


Holiday Festibowl, Brooklyn Bowl, Williamsburg. Brooklyn Bowl along with The Rock and Roll Playhouse will become its own snow globe! Enjoy a holiday themed photo booth, the music of Taylor Swift, a sing-a-long with Santa, and so much more.

First Sundays, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Heights. Bring the whole family out for this indoor/outdoor adventure inspired by the new water garden at BBG. Craft a paper pond, make your own rainstick, visit a pretend petting zoo, and hear a story read aloud, then head outside for a winter nature walk!

Be The Light Chanukah Party & Toy Drive, Clinton Hill. Celebrate the miracle of Chanukah in community, and bring gently used toys and donations to help Brooklyn children living in poverty. The party is free to attend and will have food, wine, crafts, games, a magic show for medium/big kids, and a separate music/story time for the little ones. Everyone is welcome.

Spellbound Theater presents “The Last Coin,” Old Stone House, Park Slope. When the page of a book is irreparably torn, a storyteller and her loyal stage manager must find another way to share their story of three princes on a quest to determine which of them will be their kingdom’s next ruler. Through shadow puppetry, sensory audience interactions, and other exciting surprises, little ones will experience a tale of cleverness and the value of kindness.


Ninth Annual Christmas/Hanukkah Tots Charity Sing-along, Nonna Rosa restaurant, Park Slope. This is an all-community, all-ages Christmas/Hanukkah musical event to benefit CHiPS, a local Brooklyn soup kitchen and shelter. $20 suggested donation and bring a wrapped new present for a child. Sing-along with Debbie Brukman begins at 10 AM on Monday, December 19th.
