Oran Etkin: Timbalooloo, BAM, Fort Greene. Internationally renowned jazz and world artist Oran Etkin returns to BAM following the success of his Timbalooloo clarinet concerts. This year’s interactive concert features songs from Etkin’s forthcoming new album for children.
Peter and the Wolf: Lost in the Brooklyn Museum! Prospect Heights. The Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra takes you on an imaginative adventure through our galleries with Prokofiev’s beloved tale and other great music. Clown and comic actor Andy Sapora narrates. Images of our collection accompany the concert in a video created by Natasha Kermani.
Miss Katie’s Kids Album Release Show, ShapeShifter Lab, Gowanus. Miss Katie has been making musical magic with families and children in Brooklyn for the last 8 years, and now, she has a kids album! For this show, Miss Katie will be joined by a full band, including Amelia of Mil’s Trills. This interactive show of dancing and singing is bound to delight kids and kids at heart.
Yo Re Mi: Musical Yoga, Busy Body Kids, Clinton Hill. Yoga and music fun for the whole family at Busy Bodies this Saturday with a special Yo Re Mi event! Ages 2-6, adult participation is encouraged.
Family Fun Day, Prospect Park YMCA, Park Slope. Free to the community, this is event is about giving thanks and getting creative! Bring the entire family to make apple turkeys & gingerbread houses.
First City Stomp Show of the School Year, Shapeshifter Lab, Gowanus. City Stomp incorporates fun original songs about growing up in NYC with updated versions of traditional folk songs from other world cultures. City Stomp takes kid’s music to a new level with songs that parents not only can tolerate, but actually LIKE to listen to.
Thankful Tree, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Crown Heights. To ring in the holiday, all ages are invited to think about the things you are thankful for as you come together at the museum to collectively create a tree of gratitude.
Sunday Story Time with Eda Akaltun, Powerhouse on 8th, Park Slope. Marcel is a New Yorker through and through—he and his human know the best spots, especially downtown. Pumpkin Patch Scavenger Hunt, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Crown Heights. Skip the lines at the pumpkin farms upstate. Join BCM for a pumpkin scavenger hunt in the Museum’s garden. Kids find their own miniature pumpkins and decorate them to take home just in time for Thanksgiving.
