Come out for a reading by Andrea Davis Pinkney, the bestselling author of many books for children and young adults, including picture books, novels, and non-fiction.
Sadly, Book Court (Cobble Hill) is closing at the end of this month, a reminder this holiday season to support independent bookstores throughout Brooklyn. Hooray for Brooklyn author and mother Emma Straub, who plans to open a new bookstore soon! Stay updated here.

The Knights Family Concert, BRIC, Fort Greene. You’re invited to this family performance featuring a specifically Brooklyn-flavored “Schubertiade.” Inspired by Schubert’s own intimate, salon evenings of music, poetry, song, and art, the orchestra curates a special program celebrating Brooklyn artists.
Hanukkah Community Art Festival, Hannah Senesh Community Day School, Carroll Gardens. This holiday art fair features a variety of crafts and art workshops run by local artists and community organizations. Art workshops for the whole family. Everyone in the community is welcome.
The Rock and Roll Playhouse Presents: The Music of U2, Brooklyn Bowl, Williamsburg. During this fun-filled show, children will explore live music, movement, and collaborative creativity. Young talents will gain knowledge and develop their musical skills through laughter and imagination.

Dyker Heights Christmas Lights, Dyker Heights. The lights are up in Dyker Heights, and if you haven’t seen them, make time this year to visit. We recommend taking the kids in carriers and on foot. The crowds are big but gracious and the decorations are a spectacle you won’t want to miss.
